The
Lord said, "When a person completely casts off, O Arjuna, all the
desires of the mind and is satisfied in the Self, by the Self, then
he is said to be of steady wisdom."
A
person of steady wisdom (sthiti prajna) is one who has experienced the
Self, and being completely satisfied in the Self, he or she has renounced
all worldly desires. In contrast to this is an person of unsteady intellect
whose mind is saturated with worldly desires and whose intellecr is
veiled by ignorance. This veiled (ignorant) intellect is the breeding
ground of all desires and it is the place in which the wgo of individuality
gets firmly rooted.
